Roberta M. Hill, 51, of Steele Pl., Utica, passed away January 10, 2008, at St. Luke's Healthcare Center after a long illness. Roberta was born April 9, 1956, in Utica, NY, daughter of the late Robert and Irene Kosloski Barnard. She was raised and educated in the Whitesboro School System. On May 5, 1979, in Utica, Roberta was married to Joseph J. Hill. For a period of time, she was employed at Toys R Us. She had previously been employed with the Nice N Easy Co. Roberta was a member of St. Peter's Church, N. Utica. She enjoyed doing crafts and gardening in her yard. Her first priority, though, was being with her husband and daughter. Roberta is survived by her husband, Joe; one daugher, Katie, at home; one sister, Patricia Barnard, of Whitesboro; her father-in-law, Joseph T. Hill, of White Lake; and two sisters-in-law, Linda Barnard, of Chadwicks, and Pat Barnard, of Whitesboro. She also leaves her in-laws, Mary and Dave Nephew, Madeline and Peter Kravac, and Irving and Dawn Hill, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Roberta was predeceased by her parents; her mother-in-law, Mary E. Hill; her brothers, Jerome and Robert Barnard; her sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Paul Florentino; and her brother-in-law, Joseph Owens. Roberta's funeral will be held Monday, January 14, 2008, at 9:15 from the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, and at 10:00 at St. Peter's Church, N. Utica, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Her burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Whitestown. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held Sunday from 3:00 until 6:00.
