Obituary of Celeste M. Myslewicz

Mrs. Celeste M. Myslewicz, 86, of Utica, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021, at her home, with her loving daughters by her side. Celeste was born in Utica, on March 8, 1934, the daughter of Eugene and Laura (Daniels) Marcelli. She was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of Proctor High School. On January 31, 1959, Celeste was united in marriage with John S. Myslewicz at St. Francis de Sales Church in Utica, a devoted union of 58 years, until John’s death in 2017. For 17 years, Celeste was employed with ACS Bank. She enjoyed gardening, decorating for every holiday, traveling with her husband and she loved her cats. Celeste was a member of the Home Bureau, New Hartford Senior Center, St. Ann Society of Mt. Carmel Church and was a parishioner of Our Lady of The Rosary Church in New Hartford. Mrs. Myslewicz is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Yvonne Reissig of Cincinnati, OH, Carolyn and John Zawada of Clifton Park, NY and Mary Lynn Myslewicz and her partner, Skip Swenson of Seattle, WA; one cherished granddaughter, Johanna Zawada of Clifton Park; sister-in-law, Ginger Marcelli of Deerfield, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Johnny Myslewicz; son-in-law, Anthony Reissig and two sisters and two brothers, Belle Dennehy, George Marcelli, Antoinette Raspante and Eugene Marcelli. Mrs. Myslewicz’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of The Rosary Church, Burrstone Rd., New Hartford, where her Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Face coverings are required and social distancing and contact tracing protocols must be observed. A service to celebrate Celeste’s life will also be held later in the year when safer health circumstances permit. Her Rite of Committal and burial will be held privately at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Whitesboro. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Spring Farm Cares, 3364 State Route 12, Clinton, NY 13323, in Celeste’s memory. Mrs. Myslewicz’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Sue Castilla and the Stebbins family for the wonderful care and compassion they provided to Celeste.
