Mrs. Marie J. Borruso, 93, of Clinton, formerly of Utica, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Abraham House Rome, with her loving family by her side. Marie was born in Utica, on November 13, 1927, the daughter of John and Margaret (Russo) DelMonte. She was raised in Utica and was a graduate of Proctor High School. On June 9, 1951, Marie was united in marriage with Joseph T. Borruso at Blessed Sacrament Church in Utica, a devoted and loving union of 34 years, until Joseph’s death in 1985. For many years, Marie was employed in the radio receiver division of General Electric Company, retiring in 1990. Marie was a wonderful cook and baker and enjoyed reading and dancing. She was a member of the Parkway Recreation Center, Moose Lodge and a devoted parishioner of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church in Utica. Mrs. Borruso is survived by her two loving daughters, Elaine and Norman O’Connor of N. Utica and Paulette Borruso-DeSimone of Tampa, FL; her cherished grandchildren, Tina and Ed Rivera of Utica, Ryan Bonacci of Utica and Anthony Joseph DeSimone and his fiancé Jordan Noga of Tampa, FL; adored Great grandchildren, David DeGeorge, Joseph DeGeorge, Leigha Rivera and Ryan Joseph Bonacci; and her adored great great grandchildren, Kehlani DeGeorge, Gianna DeGeorge, Nevaeh DeGeorge and Nadia DeGeorge; one sister, Marguerite Kidder of New Hampshire as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Elvio DelMonte and Gene DelMonte and one sister, Lavinia Russo. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Marie’s Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony and St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave., Utica. She will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Joseph in St. Agnes Cemetery in Utica.
