I, too, appreciate the smile in her photo and I, too, talked on the phone a lot with Evelyn.
Those last months of not being able to visit were hard but they were probably hard for
all the people who couldn't 't visit with her then. That was hard on her too.
Apparently, she spent a lot of time visiting with friends on the phone
and probably made each one of us feel special. She did me.
I admired her courage to do what she believed was right
and all the research she put into making a decision.
She was one of the most kind and caring people I know.
Thoughtful is a good word to describe her.
Thank you Evelyn for being you!
I believe you're in a better place now
and no longer have to worry about what pill to take and when!

Thank you to whomever posted this lovely pic of Evelyn smiling. It was very comforting. I miss her smile and her laugh. She was a very dear friend since the 1980s when we worked together at GE and ran our 5k races together. What fun we had training for them and going downhill skiing together. We talked on the phone a lot and esp. since she retired and moved back to NY. We talked weekly for a long time until I got sicker. I didn't know that she was at an in-patient facility until I asked the police to do a wellness check on her. Then I got a voicemail today from the NY Police that she had passed away. I hope that Evelyn got good care from the medical facility.
I am truly sorry for the family and friends who are feeling her loss. I pray that the God of all comfort would comfort and heal your wounds and return joy to your soul. Evelyn was a prayerful woman and lovely to speak with and visit when I would travel to NY. We spent a lot of time going to lunch during my visits. Evelyn even visited me in New Hampshire on her way to visit her cousin in Rockport, Ma. She was so intelligent and capable with so much detailed paperwork during her illnesses. She will be sorely missed.
